Fair use policy: free teacher accounts and trials

The free plan is provided for individual teacher use: authoring and personal preparation of assessment materials. Each department is limited to one staff account on the free plan — it is not a licence for a department or organisation to share multiple staff logins in place of a paid school subscription. Exported materials remain the responsibility of the account holder; distributing exported assessments to students outside the platform in place of a paid delivery licence is a breach of fair use.

New accounts also receive a one-off, 14-day trial: 1 classroom with real students and practice-mode sittings against it, so you can see the product run before paying. This is a limited evaluation window, not an ongoing class-delivery licence — it is not intended for repeated use across terms or years, or for real/summative exam delivery, which always requires a paid school licence. We reserve the right to decline further trial grants where usage indicates an attempt to run an ongoing class on the trial rather than evaluate the product.

We reserve the right to limit, throttle, or suspend any account whose usage pattern (storage, export volume, content scale) is inconsistent with individual, non-commercial authoring use, or with a genuine evaluation trial, and to require a paid licence where usage indicates institutional or ongoing class-delivery use.

Free plan and trial conditions, including the assessment cap, classroom cap, trial length and included features, may change at any time.
